previous projects

There are two previous Erasmus+ projects that have contributed significantly to the development of the GEM project and have informed this with lessons already learned.

EMEX

EMEX was an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership running from 2018-2021, coordinated by the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and is predecessor of the GEM project.
The Emerging Media Exploration project (EMEX) aimed to build partnerships between universities and the content creation industry. EMEX brought together media students and production companies early in the R&D product development process, with the goal of maximising story-telling and artistic workflows in the field of Emerging Media. EMEX outcomes were adopted by the Eramus+ programmes as Good Practice examples.

ONCREATE

OnCreate was an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership running from 2014-2017, coordinated by University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal and is predecessor of the EMEX project. The OnCreate project was initiated by ten universities with expertise in collaborative work in online-based learning environments and explores the specific challenges of implementing university courses in creative disciplines in such an environment.
