On 07.03.2023 at 15:30 CET the kick-off starts online. In one and a half hours, we will present a short overview of the Erasmus+ project Green Education in Media (GEM) and then highlight the various Polish, German and international approaches to the topic of green film production.

With the event series GEM intends to:
- Empower students and teachers to make green changes in their institutions by providing knowledge resources and tools;
- Strengthen self-reflection about the sustainability of media professions by promoting dialogue and creative collaboration with sciences.
The meeting marks the opening of a series of events dedicated to the Environmental Impact of Media Production. In the first season (Spring 2023), curated by Dr. Marta Materska-Samek from Jagiellonian University, the focus is on film production. The Erasmus+ project GEM will be introduced and an international overview of green production and policy-relevant issues will be presented. A German representative of green filming will share his insights and report on the current status.
Polish guest speakers of the event are Maciej Dydo, Director of the Polish Producers Association, and Monika Głowacka, Chief Officer of the Regional Film Fund and leader of Filmforclimate movement. They will present the national and regional policy dimensions and the challenges of implementing green filmmaking in Poland.
